STRATEGI PROTEKSI SEREBRAL UNTUK OPERASI REKONSTRUKSI ARKUS AORTA

Surgical intervention in the reconstruction of the aortic arch causes changes in blood ow to the brain that are temporary. Patients undergoing this procedure have a high risk of neurological disorders. Cerebral protection should be a major implication in patients undergoing this procedure. Hypothermia reduces blood ow to the brain and decreases the cerebral metabolism rate of oxygen. Retrograde cerebral perfusion is usually applied along with hypothermia techniques. The perfusion of cerebral antegrades is theoretically more physiological than the hypothermia and retrograde perfusion methods. Antegrade perfusion provides longer protective time and bene ts for complex procedures
